Working in the travel industry is, surprisingly, a lot harder than it seems. Now, we’re not saying that we don’t love meeting backpackers and talking to people all over the place about travel and all their adventures. But, we sometimes get a bit lonesome for the times when we were young and free in the wilds of the world. We miss having our own adventures and making our own discoveries and just having the freedom to do whatever we want, whenever we want.
So, we’ve gone on holiday.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen. Hostelzoo has emerged from the dark website development cave that had been our humble abode for the past few months. Our skin was pale, our eyes unused to the light after so long slaving to get our amazing website up and running for you all. So when things started to fall into place online, we started getting some seriously itchy feet to get back on the road. After all, how could we cater for the needs of backpackers and travellers if we don’t remember what it was like to be one?
But now everything is absolutely fantastic. Why? Well, we’re currently kicking back and living the good life on one of Australia’s little-known secrets: Great Keppel Island. A long-lost, mostly forgotten, backpacker haunt, Great Keppel Island is a quick car trip and ferry ride from the mainland. The perfect place for a tropical getaway, Great Keppel has all the stunning views and island goodness we could possible hope for.
Seeing as it’s a Monday and at least some of you are back at work dreaming of being on the road again, we thought we’d give you guys a little bit of a look inside the life we’ve been living the last few weeks. We’re not going to lie, the views might make you a little jealous, but we can’t keep this place to ourselves any longer.
So here it is folks, our beach day board meeting!
Warning, ahead be camera flinging and floppy noodle throwing!
Have you ever visited Great Keppel Island? We’d love to hear about it if you have! Got any secret places you explored you think we need to get onto? Hit us up because we’re always on the lookout for adventures!
